A Very Special Restoration! 🧸👶

We recently had a classic kiddies’ walker come in for some much-needed TLC. Designed to help little ones take those first tentative toddling steps, this sweet piece had clearly been "loved to destruction" over the years.

We gave it a full structural repair and a good re-stuffing with Algerian Fibre to bring back its original shape and support. While we forgot to grab "before" photos of the worn-out stuffing, the finished result speaks for itself!

The gentleman who brought it in was absolutely delighted when he collected it, and his generous donation to our funds was hugely appreciated. Seeing cherished family items get a second life is exactly why we do what we do. 🛠️✨

We have repaired many lawnmowers, and most suffer from the same common faults: bad petrol, a worn-out spark plug, or a dirty carburettor. We have had the odd one with the starter cord broken but they are a 5 minute fix, in fact we had one mum come with her 10 year old son who wanted to help and learn how to do a starter cord. that was very encouraging to think a little boy wanted to know. Well done Lawson

Even had two consecutive days of remote controls, yes two, nice simple fix but one after the other, wow.

There is definitely a unique kind of quiet satisfaction in bringing a old mechanical clock back to life. Hearing that steady, rhythmic beat return after who-knows-how-many years of silence—or erratic ticking—is pure magic. It’s one of those crafts where patience isn't just a virtue; it's practically a requirement.

And you're so right about not rushing the owner to pick it up! A freshly repaired clock needs proper bench testing anyway to make sure it's keeping good time and the chime/strike train is running reliably. Plus, keeping it running on the workbench for a bit longer lets you enjoy the fruits of your labor and that peaceful soundtrack before it goes back home.
